After accumulating a good amount of used M track from E-bay, I have a few pieces of track that I don't know how they work. One is item 5146, (straight circuit track) and one straight track that is stamped 5106, but one rail has a slit at both ends and two jacks near the middle for a plug. I'm guessing it's a contact track; it's not shown or listed in the catalog. Also I have (4) - 7191 bumper stops. Where do the 3 wires that come from the bumper go to? I figure the wires from the turnouts go to the transformer via the 7072 control box. Is there a Marklin publication that explains how all the tracks go together that I can buy?

Try here:

One link on that page is for annual catalogs the other books. Hopefully you’ll find more then you need!

Hi Ron
The 5148 is a half-length straight which delivers one contact per direction when a slider-equipped vehicle crosses it.
The 5147 is a half-length curved (standard radius) which delivers one contact per direction when a slider-equipped vehicle crosses it.
The 5213 is a half-length curved (parallel track)) which delivers one contact per direction when a slider-equipped vehicle crosses it.

The 5106 is a full length straight (18 cm)
The 5105 is a full length straight with a contact section and 2 jacks in the middle (the one you mention)
In the English 1968 catalogue you will find all the answers Cat Marklin 1968 EN.pdf (18,945kb) downloaded 91 time(s). It is coming from the same website mentioned by Pete

Note: as most M track users, contact tracks 5104 (full-size curved contact track) and 5105 (full-size straight contact track) were disliked and directional contact tracks like 5147, 5148, 5213 are preferred because less likely to burn a coil because a train is parked on it and because of the direction-specific contact.
One old publication may help you designing layouts: Cat Marklin Gleisplane 0390 (1975).pdf (17,318kb) downloaded 88 time(s).
I love M track. Here is a temporary layout I did some 20 years ago

I hope this helps
