<br />I'm sorry about the following contribution , I was not sure about the appropriateness of opening a new thread about this short statement of facts , although several times I have tried to warn the honourable members of this forum about the poor quality , poor design, above all poor manufacturing of many items , coaches, wagons, railbuses from the brand LSM - LS Models -( although their models are correctly detailed , probably their single & main quality , but too much frail and fragile & not too good runners). The problems listing start to be a long list.
The last issues concern several series of the " Mistral " coaches ( most of them ).With time , their chassis ( underframe) is warping and the body is slowly disconnecting from the chassis .( On French Forums there are some threads about it ).
If some people here bought those models ( I guess there are some ) I invite them to verify how is the undercarriage and chassis , run the finger over it ( you could feel some bumps or undulations ), see if there is a space between chassis and body.
It is said that it is because of too much glue ( many times customers said them how astonished they were of the use of too much glue in assemblying ), some say it comes from quality of plastics .( management prefers to concede that it is glue...)
If some customers didn't notice anything yet, I suggest them to open ( or try to open ) and to get ride of the glue ( a chemical reaction , probably a slow process between plastic & glue ). It is neoprene glue , not too hard to be eliminated . Only as a preventive action in case of "glue hypothesis" is the right one , which is not so sure . ( Their quality of plastics has been also criticised on various items too)
This time , The management cannot hide and have to face up to their responsibilities . So , they offer to replace...: warped parts ( only ).If you got these problems , they offer to send your retailer new parts to replace incriminated parts ...
( Untill now it concerns following references :41001-41003-41005-41006-41007-41008.........)
( Mike C might tell us more about it , as he often told us how well he knows & seems to appreciate LSM coaches ...)

I do not have any of the Mistral coaches, so I cannot speak directly to this model.
I have not noticed any problems with the assorted LSM coaches in my collection, including the following models:

SNCB 15 Couchette (Heris Co-production)
SNCB I11 (Heris Co-production)
NS Couchette (Heris Co-production)
DB UIC-X (1954 subseries)
CNL Coaches
NS Couchettes (ex-TUI)

The Mistral coaches were available from LS Models and the Swiss variants were available through RailTop. As the Swiss variants were slightly different from the standard (PBA) coach, there may have been differences in the production.

If you notice any problems with your Mistral 69 rolling stock, you should contact your dealer or LS Models. If you purchased the Arbalete/Cisalpin Set, you can contact your dealer or RailTop.

Whatever warranty there is on these items is probably explained on the box or in the instructions enclosed with the item. If it was a 2 Year Warranty, then most models may still be covered.

Regards

Same here - I have a few of their SNCF Grand Confort coaches (TEE) and a couple of other SNCF coaches (not sure what type, but it's the pack of two 2nd class coaches in C1 orange/white stripe livery). I've not noticed any warping or undue fragility.

They wouldn't survive rough treatment, but they're scale models with fine detailing. You can get them onto the layout without worrying about breakages and they look great. I just wish I'd managed to get hold of the other GC coach pack as that included the generator van (essential for an accurate train, it powered all the on train systems such as air conditioning!).

Matt,

have you tried Huenerbein(321) (eBay), Jocadis.com or Jura-Modelisme.fr for these models? If you post the model # here, I can perhaps help you locate it.

It has been 2 days now that the french website " Locorevue " is down !!!
Well...coincidence or bad luck ? [}:)].( Usually I never found this website down , sometimes may be , not more than few minutes)
On the forum of this website , you could see pictures of warped chassis shown by customers . It has been confirmed by so many people owning the " Mistral 69 ".
The title of the thread was " horreur...." .( easy to translate ...)

It's not really new , some customers already warned LS-Models early 2008 .

Thanks Mike - I'll have a look at those when I next have some money to spare. I'm not sure of the reference number but mine are the original colour scheme (red/stainless steel rather than red/concrete grey) and have the TEE lettering.
