Reisezugwagen.eu is announcing that the LS Models Set Number 47219 containing the SBB WRm in red and two B11 compartment coaches is now available. They have not yet released their own photos of the restaurant car, but I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of this Set. http://www.reisezugwagen.eu/?p=2073The next deliveries should be the orange Bpm 79 (Eurofima livery) coach Set with matching WRm, the other Bpm/B models (EWIV livery, Chameleon Prototype, ICN livery (variants), followed by the RIC Bm in the modified EWIV (IC) liveries and finally the RAe/RABe Gottardo trainsets. The DB Bpmz variants are coming, followed by the Metropolitan and the ET403. I have not heard any definitive news about the IC/EC Tiziano Sets, which I am eagerly awaiting. Regards Mike C

Mike,
Do you run AC or DC?
I've looked at some LS models at a dealer in NJ and he only has DC wheels on the cars.
Thanks. |

My locomotives are AC. About 60% are digital. My cars and coaches are equipped either with noninsulated AC wheelsets or with insulated DC wheelsets. As long as the coaches are not equipped with lighting, there is no problem using normal DC wheelsets on C or K Track. If your layout is equipped with contact tracks or requires ground feedback for track occupancy detection, you should replace DC wheelsets with equivalent uninsulated AC wheelsets. For lighting, it is optional. It is possible to use DC wheelsets, but I recommend reversing one wheelset per bogie, so that ground return is assured via both rails. If such an alteration is made, you will have to ensure that that coach is not placed on a 2 rail layout without putting the wheelset back in it's original position.
Regards
Mike C

Nice! If I wasn't so heavily invested in 1:100 and a few 1:93 length coaches I'd get the diner. Problem is it won't blend into most of my trains in full length. I did, however, just order a full set of Roco IC Doppelstockwagen due out later this year in 1:87 |
