Now there are huge amount of special functions in new locomotives. But why so few of locomotives have telex couplers? They would be very useful. At least I think, that telex coupler would be much better thing than for example sound effects. I just test sound effects once, and after that I use them when I want to show my locomotives to someone. Telex coupler would be in use every time than I play with trains.
Is that possible to install telex coupler to locomotives that does not have them? For example couplers from some other manufacturer than Märklin, if Märklin does not have suitable products. All my locomotives have at least one decoder function which is not in use.

I agree... More Telex...
I explored the idea of placing Telex into my 460s with my local dealer, but to no avail as it is a major job to do this on a chassis that is not designed for the coupler..
Telex from another manufacturer - now that is an idea... I seem to remember Digilox pointing me in the direction of couplers that plugged into NEM sockets, but incorporated a telex like mechanism... Time to do a search as I never got around to following up on that one.. [:I] |

Hi, I know Krois-Modell makes "telex"-couplers that fit in every NEM362-pocket. No personal experience, so no idea how well they work. http://www.krois-modell.at/main/Juha |

Hi Hannu, I've found a site some time ago which might be informative.Regretably it's in German only. The owner of the site describes retrofitting a BR41 tender with a telex coupler of the newer type. Navigation is a little hard, but you'll find it under Telex am Tender. http://www.x-train.de/Kind regards Guus |

I agree that telex coupler is the most useful function, but missing from almost all locs that Maerklin produce.

Telex coupler should be in every loco produced today no ? about it. They spend lots of money on a half assed CS which i still cant get from my dealer but wont put in telex couplers, makes no sense.
