I saw that the new V90 for Fall issue has telex couplers mounted on the wheel bogies. This appears to be something new in the Marklin world !!

biggrinbiggrin

A close up reveals a bigger than normal coupler unit on the bogies. Does anybody have any idea of how this will work, and will it be reliable ??

Interestingly enough, I think this will be the first locomotive in 37XXX series with Soft Sine Propulsion. So The 39XXX numbers to designate this might not be used in future ???

Frostie,

37900, 37901 and 37902 also all have compact C-sine motors, so theoretically they should all be 39xxx. I don't know why Marklin has messed up its numbering system with the V 90's.

The Telex couplers look very similar to the one-off Roco remote couplers, also found on their V 90 model. I wonder if there is any connection?

Frostie,

All I get is sign-on pages on imageshack.us - no pics of couplers!

It looks like the couplers plug into a standard NEM socket. I can see several of my locos ending up with TELEX!Smile

My dealer claimed that the 37900 had a Faulhaber motor... Has anybody looked inside?

(In M's database it's said to have the compact c-sine as you say Ray)
