Your best bet would be any one of the following: 6153: blue metal, 30VA, 110-115 volt, US plug, UL listed 6627: blue plastic, 30VA, 120 volt, US plug, UL listed 6646: white plastic, 32VA, 120 volt, US plug, UL listed, may be most expensive choice, but newest and only one suitable for analog operation of digital locos. The smaller ones are usually only 10-16VA, some of the other model numbers are for other voltages and should be avoided, the 280 is cool but has issues with the cord/ wire insulation deteriorating and would need to be inspected for safe operation before use. It, and any other older model you may choose should be stamped 110 or 120 volt to function properly in the US. Marklin has made many different models with different outputs, cords and voltage specifications, most should run your trains, the ones listed are my favorites...
