while to most this must sound stupid but i just bought some parts and i can not see how to connect the transformer to this feeder track

I'm not sure if either of these items are Maerklin. I just tried to do a search on both of those numbers and came up with zero results. Can you post some pictures?

I think the transformer is 6646, but I cannot guess which feeder track is being used.

If the track is 24088, then you will need to find a Märklin cable with a round plug at one end and two blank wires at the other end. Or make a DIY solution.
Märklin E610718 is the cable from Mother M.

Yes, or if m track from the 70s through 1999 feeder track has wires attached from factory. Otherwise brown wire from transformer to the outer rails and the red wire to the center studs.
