From the horse's mouth, so to speak: From the website of Märklin itselfHier is wat I found: Märklin M track disappeared from the product line in 2001 and was replaced by C track. Returning customers in particular often still have large quantities of M track and wonder if they can still use the rails. The answer to this is a resounding "Yes!". The Märklin transition track makes it easy to combine old and new rails.

I transitioned to all digital with M track and found no strctural problems or functional limitations. I did find that occasional solenoid-based items do not work with decoders, but majority are fine. |
