I got a 7286 turntable but no 7687 controller. I scoured the forum, but cannot find wiring that uses k/m84 to test the digital ready unit.
It has 6 colored wires; see pic. Black wire from control box has no equiv color. Trying Yellow and Orange did nothing. Anyone solved this?

Hi Ben

Here is the wiring diagram of a TT (7286) and its remote and the possible use of a K84 or M84
DrehtscheibeSchaltplan.png
Now, controlling the TT using an M84 will take diodes and wiring and external 16 VAC to replicated the diodes and switches in the remote

The other aspect is the wiring at the back of the TT (If you still have it)
Sans titre.png
The three top plugs are for connecting the 3 rails of the rotating bridge
The three lower are to power the TT motor which is DC with a full wave rectified voltage from 16VAC

The voltage DC polarity will set the rotation direction

The other plug is to command the solenoid (and thus start the motor rotation untinl the next notch)

Note: as you know this TT was made by Fleischmann and adapted to Märklin for 3 rails and different AC voltage for accessories. So the resistor in series with the motor and located under the bridge is different. The DC voltage is made by a full wave rectifier located inside the remote (that you don't have) So either you provide DC as per the wiring diagram above or you add a full wave rectrifier

I hope this helps
Jean

PS I have such a 7286 turntable but I have installed a DSD 2010 set of decoders (DigitalBahn)

Excellent. I have an analog controller. Strange that wire colors don't match, but maybe fleischman to marklin color codes differences. Now powers motor, but not turning. Probably dirty motor, so taking apart. 20260128_132749.jpg (1,259kb) downloaded 5 time(s).

Hi
Just beware that there is a mechanical latch that is supposed to be unlatched (moved to the right of picture) before the motor turns
The unlatching is made by the solenoid that closes the motor contact at the same time

sans titre.jpg

Note: the motor can only drive the bridge if:
- the border pieces / access tracks are installed
- if the spring (on the right) pushes the motor assembly against the pit border and its large teeth

Cheers
Jean

Got it turning both ways. but this little metal plate fell out when opening motor. Unit rotates, but does not stop at rail connects. Any idea where this sits inside motor?

Hi Ben,

In Strange Bits Log 1
See pages 9-12 how to service the motor drive.

On my web site Ross' Marklin Site
Go to the Tips Section and search for 7686 for other articles on the turntable that maybe of interest to you.

PS the spring is for the locking bar and fits behind the large gear wheel and it fits into 2 thin slots.

Hi Ben
The rectangular thin plate its against the large theet wheel on the inside and perpendicular to the bridge axis
It is there NOT to stop the motor but to increase the stopping precision by cancelling all play in gears.
Sorry no picture.

The motor is supposed to rotate at a very precise speed this is made by the voltage full wave rectification of 12 VAC (Fleischmann or 16 VAC (Märklin)
A wrong speed may cause an early stop or a "Ballistic overshoot" (you miss the track)

As explaned above, the locking bar under the bridge) is supposed to stop very abruptly the motor as its worm gear has also "wings" to allow brutal stopping
Sans titre.png
Check if the wings are broken or if the gear has been replaced with a "normal" one (for N scale locos)

Cheers
Jean
