Hi guys, probably a dumb question but can someone tell me the difference between Marklin's 7186 & 7286 model Turntables. Tried searching the forum but couldn't find answer. Is one just a newer version of the other? Thanks.......Sandy

7186 is designed for use with M tracks, 7286 is designed for use with K tracks, but can also be used with M and C tracks using an appropriate track adapter. 7286 also has more slots available for fitting extra spur tracks - for that you also need the 7287 kit.

Thanks Dr. D and Bigdaddynz for your time and info, very helpful. Will probably settle for the 7286 unless Marklin makes one for direct use with C-track in the near future....Sandy

And maybe worth mentioning that 7186 is sooo loud that you will need to wear ear protection!

I find the smooth, silent running of 7286 much more pleasant:-)

Hi

Yes The 7186 is very loud , so I converted here with 60903 kit and a Zimo decoder

not totaly silent but nothing to do with the initial state
also i can can control the speed , when running slowly the thing is silent

Have a nice day
