I finally went to replace my CS2 and install my new CS3 plus to my layout and when I plugged it in, nothing happened. No power to my boosters etc. CS2 works fine and now I think I have the wrong power to the new CS3. So when I look at the available switched mode power, lots of different numbers but nothing to point to the one that should be with the CS3 in the good old USA.

Anyone have the definitive number to use?

60065 is the item number you are looking for, it’s 60 VA and for 120 V. CS3 don’t work with AC transformer, but needs a switched DC supply.

Hi

There is a new power supply ( 60045 ) for the American market in the new items 2019. Alas no delivery date is available yet.
It is accepting any voltage from 110V till 240V 60W and suitable for the US market

It seems that the 60065 was delivering only 50W and for some users it was causing the CS3 to reboot.
Definitely a Marklin transfo even with the same connector is not usable because of pin assignements & capacity to convert AC to DC.
Cheers

Jean

Right at the front of the manual for the CS3 it clearly tells you:

A quick check on the Märklin website shows the 60061 is for 240v and the 60065 is for 120v, (all assuming your running H0) - sot he 60065 is the north american 120v solution.

There are new power supplies that came out in the new items 2019 catalog, which isn't out yet, if the color matters to you (60045), but the 60065 is still just fine.

Hi All:

I need help!. I just received the new starter set 29051, and a new CS3+. It registered the MFX engines AOK. When I register an old digital engine, for example a 33182, I get the correct digital address, it how the engine, but I cannot get it torun. What did i do wrong? Or, did I not complete all of the steps to register the engine. I have the CS3 book, but I think there is some information missing on how to do this. I have 6 more older Marklin digital engines I need to register. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joe

Has the 33182 been converted to digital, or is it delta?

If it is Delta then you should be able to find it in the loco database by searching for 33182.

The same would go for the other locos if they were originally digital or delta items.

For registering locos the manual form Märklin's homepage will help better than the book. Anyway, are all your locos running now?

Everything is now running and the old Marklin Locos and the MFX locos are running great. I have trouble with one turnout decoder and I have 1 more loco to register. I think the turnout decoder is defective. Thanks for all the help and a quick response. Joe
