Happy new year to all.

All I want to do is have a loco stop a loco at a station for a few seconds then proceed again. Is there any easy way to do this. I have set up a S88 on the list (don't really want it on the track board)

The Marklin book on the CS3 goes on for several pages without really giving anything on what should I would have thought been a simple set up.

Any easy step by step would be great if it is possible.

Hi David

With the CS2, the trick would be to record (in a new "Memory" position that:
- your Loco stops
- wait for X seconds
- start your loco at speed Y

This chain of controls could be triggered by a contact rail at station entry.

I am almost certain that it is also possible with the CS3
Drawback of this method : you need to write this command chain for each loco you want to stop and select the appropriate one

Note: with s/w like Rocrail you can write a general program which will do this for any (or selected ones) loco in the specified bloc in a much simpler manner.

Cheers

Jean

Thanks Jean. I still use my CS2 for another part of the layout but the CS3 is completely different and with the CS2 this can be done in minutes but the CS3 needs a degree after several years of study lol.

Many thanks Peter. Once again you have come to my aid with a great description. This will save a lot of reading through the Marklin book which although good does tend to spend time telling us what it does and how good it is rather than just instructions as you have given.
