Joined: 17/02/2008(UTC) Posts: 606 Location: Glen Oaks, N.Y.		Which sound decoders would be appropriate for the Rio Grande F7. I believe 60986 is appropriate but may require the motor be changed (which adds expense). Are there any alternatives? Regards Harvey

You could also use an ESU Loksound 5 with an appropriate sound file loaded (a dealer should do this for you at time of ordering the decoder). Again 21 pin and leaded versions are available. In both cases you will need to change the motor to a DC one if it isn't already.
