I like to add a new train set to my collection, The "Orient Express". I know Marklin used to have at ho Set which is no more available by Marklin.
So now i'm looking around with the other ho Models, and was wondering, who has the best HO Orient Express cars, to build up your own set.
Can some one give me some tips on that?

Hi, I guess your search will be restricted by what era you wish to model. Here is some interesting reading on Marklin Orient Express (OE) stuff, which may help. http://www.qldrail.net/altkloster/marklinoe1.htmRivarossi and France Trains do really nice models in plastic of OE stuff, and Jouef were not so bad either. You will need to determine if any of the longer models are suitable for running on a Marklin layout with small radius curves, if that is your intention. regards Kimball |
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge. |

There are a few on German Ebay at the moment. Trix made some OE Trix for Marklin. in both Colour Schemes Brown & Cream and the Blus coaches. in my opinion more detailed than the Marklin version.

Trix made some Orient Express coaches too. Here is a picture of a few of mine, these three were less than $100 USD for all. I have more. They do come up on eBid and eBay from time to time. Peter B. mb300e4m attached the following image(s): |

NN I was delighted with the price especially as they looked like they had never been out of their boxes. I should have some blue CIWL ones around here somewhere. I need to get my inventory up to date. Peter B. |
