Hi!
I think the latest version is 3.148. You can update the track box from your MS2, but if you take it to the shop they might help you or do it for you.
Some shops would like to see some money. Some shops may not be able to upgrade the MS2 at all. Better contact them before you go there. |

I will go and pickup some locomotives and cars so they will help me.
But would prefer to keep the trackbox since its connected to the rail, but if Iunderstand you right then I only need to bring the MS2?

Yes. When the update is completely transferred to the MS2, the MS2 will be able to update other MS2s and also update the track box. |

Something different, are there any news of a new CS such as a CS4?
I have still not bought one but thinking of getting one this winter but am afraid that the day I do so a CS4 will be available the next day :)

However another telling prelude to a new controller being announced is the old controller will go out of production (without the world (as in users) being told), so that existing stocks sell out. With the cs2 this happened something like 6 months before the cs3 was announced. I believe the cs3 is still available, so don't expect a replacement to be announced any time soon - but that is not to say they may introduce a complementary model such as one without a screen and control knobs so it has to be operated with a phone or other wireless controller. Having said that Marklin did announce a wireless controller handset coming up to 2 years ago, to connect with a cs2/3, but had problems with the supplier of it and announced they had cancelled that model and are working on a new design. I don't think there has been a formal announcement of the new design yet, so I think that is likely to appear in one of the New Items next year, could be the first announcement, but I suspect it will appear in the Fall NI so it will be demonstrated at the IMA Show in Goeppingen in mid-September, and fill peoples Christmas Stockings.
