I am new to the new Central Station 60212. I know some of its features etc. but I am wondering if you can use 6604/66045s as boosters as with the 6021.
Thanks,
Eric

The 6604/66045 should be usable to some degree with almost any digital central, as it has no digital intelligence and knows nothing about the protcol. It just boosts it.

But if you use it, there are two drawbacks:
1. The feedback info about what locos are present is lost =>
1a. When staring up, an loco run by mfx must be placed first on a section driven by the CS directly.
1b. When the mfx driven loco gets to the section powered by the Delta, the display will start to flash, howerver, still be working.
2. There is a slight delay in the Delta. When trains go from sections of the CS to sections of the Delta, there will be a minor short. Therefore it's often recommended not to mix Delta sections and CS/Mobstat sections, either by
- Using Deltas for turnout/sinals only
- Using only Deltas for the layout, and the output of MobStat/CS as programming track+turnouts.

In fact, the latter is a good way if you want to run a big layout from MobStat (the only way more or less). The first is a good way with a CS.

Yes, that's right. One should use a rocker on the center rail to avoid the short (it's said that this short can damage a mobile station ...).

Tom

How much can a Mobile Station handle ?
My current layout :
Around 10 meters of track, normaly 1-2 trains running at once, tried 4, went ok.
Lights/turnouts handled by another trafo.
It's the 1.2A Mobile Station from startset i have.
Am i close to the limit ?
