Hi everyone!
Im completely new to this hobby and im currently checking out the various of starter packs. One thing though is that all the tracks seems to be curved with only 15degrees angles at maximum. Can this be right? my space for the hobby is limited in width but from what i can deduce a width of minimum 76centimeters is required to make the "turn" is this correct or is there other solutions to make a more "slim track" ?

Hi!
Welcome to the forum!
With C track, 360 mm is the smallest radius. Each curve is 30° and 76 cm is the space you need for a full circle in H0 gauge.
Both K track and M track offer smaller radii for H0 gauge.
Maybe look at N gauge and Z gauge to have smaller trains and smaller radii. |

H0 is correct. But I think most model railroaders will advice against using smaller radius than R1 (360 mm radius/760 mm diameter) in H0 scale.

In view of limited space I would go for N gauge to allow some dedcent running of locos. |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |

Hello ! Welcome to the forum ! Perhaps you can give us more information on the width and length available for your layout. As for curves, I never had a problem with the R1 radius of 360mm. All starter set trains use these tracks. Only some high-end Märklin models are recommended for a minimum R2 radius. Also see if it is possible to have space at home for looping only, the rest of the layout can be much narrower. In the case of my layout, it is 1m wide at the loops, but not more than 50cm over a long length. Best Regards Joël |
