I have the 2019 & 2020 Marklin Christmas cars. The couplers on one end seem to be lower than the other end and hits the center studs and does not connect to proper height couplers.
Is this an error for these 2 years? Can they be replaced?
Thank You

I have quite a few freight cars (44187 - M&M car as an example) and when I run them they disconnect. This seems random but some cars are more susceptible to this than others. Reason could be slight bumps on the rails, slight differences in height of couplers on different cars. To be sure that I am describing the coupler I have, it looks like part 72060 but connects to the car by pushing the coupler onto a "pin' on the car. That is, the coupler has a small hole for the pin to fit through. I do have part 7203 (701630) but these do not have the hole I described. I see that 7205 includes 2 types of couplers (1 for locomotives and 1 for cars). These seem to have similar holes. Are these what I am looking for? Anyone have experience with them?

Hello Harvey,
The 7205 are the ones you want. You can buy them in the packet of 40 (wagon) + 10 (loco). I would imagine a Märklin dealer would sell them in pairs if you only need a few.

Merged both Coupler topics.
To answer Jim's question there is a coupler gauge available from Marklin - item 7001 - which you can use to set the proper coupler height.
From memory, the Christmas cars use close couplers which plug into a pocket in the coupler assembly. Make sure that the coupler is fully pressed home into the pocket.
The close couplers are available as a replacement (item 7203) which again you should be able to obtain from a Marklin dealer singly.
The pocket / drawbar assembly most likely are available as a spare part but you would need to email the Marklin Service Centre to find out what the part numbers are for each wagon.
