Hi everyone,
I’m looking to install LED lights in my Roco passenger coaches I recently bought. I liked the ESU LED strips I used previously, I used the Viessmann magnetic current conducting couplers to pass the power from one coach to the next.
This time I’d like to try using the ESU 50708 Digital Interior Lighting to light up a set of 5 coaches. The very last coach will have the pickup, the current conducting couplers will be from Viessmann.
My question, so you need to use only one digital strip (which controls the lights) and the other just normal ones?
So, install one ESU 50708 as the control coach and use 4 x 50700 for the others?
Or, so I just install the ESU 50708 in all the coaches?
Hope I’m making sense, I find it a bit hard to explain these things. |

One decoder will do it with current conducting couplers.

AUX1 of 50708 is specified with 100 mA. The power consumption of 50700 is specified with 25 mA. So theoretically five coaches - one master and four slaves - will be within the specification. It will be safer to add a relay though. But you will have one control car with all the light effects, allowing to turn individual compartments on and off. And you will have four slave coaches that will all be on or all be off. Originally Posted by: Eddie7979 Or, so I just install the ESU 50708 in all the coaches? More expensive, but individual control and light effects for all coaches. One slider will do with current conducting couplers. |

And it's possible that light color and brightness of the added coaches will be different from those of the first one.
