I need two scharfenberg couplers (non working) for my TEE VT11.5. They don't seem to be available from Marklin. Does anyone know where and how I could get them? Thanks.

Hello Otto,

I presume you have either 37605 or 37609.
The exploded diagram with my 37605 shows : 37605_explo .pdf (724kb) downloaded 43 time(s).

Thus the coupling you seek is diagram #34 shown as Scharfenberg-Kupplung, Märklin part number 786 522

This number as a Märklin part number does not yield anything for me on internet search.

It may be worthwhile enquiring directly to https://www.ebay.com/usr/coccodrillo114, a spare parts chap in Italy recommended by a number of folk on this forum.

Regards,

PJ

Hi, here is another reference:

Hoping it helps.

These couplers are so fragile...
such a big difference in reliability with the VT11.5 heavy metal body, I do not understand the choice of manufacturing this shameful plastic part...

Best regards
Joël

I wonder what human part replacement that "M" is making for us , is it only available to members of this forum or on sale to anyone who may need this delicate part ?

Cheers Tom in Oz [ still packing up for the big house move ] .

Thanks Joël. I need two of those for my VT 11.5 and they are definitely not available under the part number Märklin lists in the part diagram. Although it will be a slow process to get them here in the US, it will be worth the wait because that is one of my favorite trains. ThumpUp
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time.

Shipping worldwide...

If you need two, maybe you can order four items...

For me, I have broken one, just trying to put it in place.

Thanks PJ,
I had looked on eBay and found nothing. Not I looked at ebay.de and found them. About 3€ each.
I have the 37605 and also the 43116 add on set (could not find a 43115) to make it a 7 unit train. But one car in the 43116 causes one motor to run in reverse direction. I guess I have to open it and change the wiring.
The speakers in the vt11.5 are outstanding.

Hi Otto,

Looks like you have a source for your couplers now.ThumpUp

My 37605 + 43115 is probably still my favourite train on my layout.

You may have seen my ramblings before : https://www.marklin-user...-HVC-s-trains#post552176
