Hi Fellow Marklin railroaders. In an earlier post I introduced myself and mentioned that I'm relatively new to model railroading with Marklin. I'm looking into the purchase of digital Marklin set # 29845 produced back in 1999 and contains both a BR O3 and V 160 and controled with a 6021 controller. My question is what issues would I face if I run these locomotives on my C-track layout which is controlled with an MS2? My particular concerns deal with locomotive recognition by the MS2 and controlling the few functions that these units have, i.e. the horns on the V160?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays everyone.

Sandy

Hi!

The locos will not register automatically, but they should work fine with all their functions (either after adding them from database or manually).

Tom

Since we are on the subject, this never occured to me. If you opt to enter the number of the set, how does the station knows which one of the two locos is? I know you can enter the individual road number of each loco but will it work through the set # which is what I do with sets with one loco?

IIRC the MS1 will add two locos when you select the starter set ref. number from the database.

I think the CS2 has two entries for such starter sets.

I don't know how the MS2 does it. Maybe there also are two entries.

The MS2 acts like the CS2. You will have 2 entries in the database and you can select both of them individuelly to add them to your MS2. Both machines, expecially the BR03, run excellent, smooth and with no problems, especially on the C-Track.

The BR03 in that Starter Pack ist one that i like the most because it runs so fine and smooth.

thanks and many greetings
