I just got a new Piko Lok (E93) on the track today.
To my dismay, it came with one of those horrid AnDi decoders, #78 320.[xx(]

The lights come on, change direction, but the Lok does not move.[:(!][:(!]

SO, of course I opened the Lok up and replaced the decoder with a spare Lokpilot. Lights, action, moved very good! biggrin But....
The Lokpilot 50600 is too large to fit inside the shell. (Top pops off[:0])

I need to either:
1. get the AnDi to work.
2. smaller decoder that works with my IB. (AnDi is 19 X 16 X 5, Lokpilot is 26.5 X 15.5 X 6.5)

Please help with either solution.

In the words of Ms Gilda, 'Never mind'.[:I]

I found the AnDi manual on-line. Default is AC operation!

Argh! [xx(][xx(][xx(] Gets me every time.

'Grampa' runs fine now.Cool

Sorry, unrelated to your technical problem, but: how much did you pay for it ?? And which version / era is it ??

Just interested, I thought of getting one also, the three-rail version sits on my dealer's shelf !!

Thanks for your help,

Johann
I like M-track and my things that run on it were built between 1959 and 1972.

A good choice could be Uhlenbrock 73500, 12 x 8,6 x 3,4mm, 0,5A for the motor and each one of the lights, load control, multiprotocol, High Freq.
Andi is a cheap decoder and follows the rule: low cost, low performance.
Measure the max. current the motor can take from the decoder and, if it isn't greater than 0,5A, you can use a 73500.
Have fun...

I would consider the Viessmann 5242 as a very good option for a small (multi-protokol) decoder. It can handle a current of 750 mA which us usually enough for a H0 model. And it's very, very small... Like the Uhlenbrock 73500, but it allows a higher current.

Not a one on the shell.[xx(]
Sort of like Roco Loks, pull the shell wider to remove. Also, to remove the center shell, you have to remove the end shells (bonetswink) first.

The shell has a 'delicate' feel to it. Not at all like the Marklin 4mm armour.[:p]
