Mostly, but not always with Marklin decoders.
Rule of thumb - ESU for ESUJ decoders and Marklin for Marklin decoders.
You can access some areas but not 100% compatible.

David's answer is correct. Originally Posted by: Ausipeet just curious as to whether this unit is compatible/ usable with Marklin engines. From 2004 until around 2011 some Märklin engines shipped with ESU decoders. Also useful for locos that were equipped with ESU retrofit decoders. Uploading sound projects or firmware works only for unlocked ESU decoders. You need Märklin tools to upload sound projects or firmware to Märklin decoders. For Zimo decoders, you need their tools. The ESU LokProgrammer supports DCC programming that should work with all DCC decoders, but the real benefits are available with ESU decoders only. |
Regards Tom --- "In all of the gauges, we particularly emphasize a high level of quality, the best possible fidelity to the prototype, and absolute precision. You will see that in all of our products." (from Märklin New Items Brochure 2015, page 1) ROFLBTCUTS |
