Was wondering if someone knows what settings they are using for the three Seuthe smoke settings on their Lokprogrammer? Fields are 1) Heat while standing 2) Minimum heat while driving and 3) Maximum heat while driving. I know I'll need to tweek them some, but was hoping for a good starting point.
Thank!

But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Who is "they"? I wonder if ESU uses Seuthe smoke generators in their locos.

Those three fields came with the V4 decoders. I didn't play with them yet.

V3 and earlier also have a smoke generator setting and if the generator is a "good smoker" you can reduce the output power to get longer lasting smoke. But with track voltage varying between 18 and 23 volts and big variation in smoke generators, there won't be a single "perfect" setting for all.

I'd set "1)" as low as possible (just enough to get visible smoke within 5 through 10 seconds) and then set "2" and "3" to higher values to get a notable difference while driving.

I think I have a Brawa loco without smoke generator, but with V4 decoder. I can read out their settings (but I don't know if they cared to fiddle with that).
Are there other brands with ESU V4 decoders in steam locos?
Regards
Tom

"They" was any individual who had worked out a solution.
Didn't think about the variables in the smoke unit and track voltage.
Looks like a good project for the upcoming four day weekend.
I'll post the settings I come up with.
