Hi everyone, I just bought a lokprogrammer thinking that I could change and/or add sounds to my Marklin locos, however, I'm having a devil of a time trying to understand and use the thing.
Correct me if I'm wrong - mfx decoders cannot be changed with the lokprogrammer? Are there some other instructions other than those supplied by ESU ? Are there any video instructions available ?
I have tried to change some CV's but it doesn't make any difference to the running of the locos. Any suggestions welcomed.

Take it easy . . . . or any other way you can get it !!!!

Regards Greg Hello Greg. I do not think there is much you can change on the "mfx" decoders using a Lokprogrammer, as far as Marklin is concerned ESU is the enemy! Try using the ESU forums, they are probably your best source for support on the Lokprogrammer. http://www.esu.eu/en/for...lokprogrammer_support-1/Regards |

I think both mfx and simple fx decoders are locked. So you can not change any parameter using Lokprogrammer. If Marklin thinks that ESU is the enemy then she (Marklin) should not lock their decoders. Marklin, by locking their's decoders pushes buyers to change the original decoders with ESU's.
Example: If I could use all the four functions of Marklin's decoders I wouldnt replace them with Lokpilot 3 M4.

The sound project wasn't locked with early ESU decoders. Later ESU decoders were locked. Current mfx decoders are not made by ESU and cannot be programmed with the LokProgrammer. |
