Could the roadbeds of adjacent tracks touch or, in other words, is there much/any Marklin rolling stock that is wider than the base of C-track? Thinking here of hidden storage tracks and getting the maximum into a small space. Yes, there would be clearance issues entering and leaving the parallel sidings and some severely hacked track pieces ... but if they don't sell it, you've got make it.

The rolling stock envelope specified in NEM 301 is 40mm (kinematic for new stuff, static for old stuff). So 46mm should pretty much ensure 6mm clearance between rolling stock IF your rolling stock is compliant. https://morop.org/images...NEM_E/nem301_en_2018.pdf
