Did you connect your 400mm track between the lightgrey 'roadtrack' and the 2 other tracks supplied with the crossing, or outside? You just have to make the contact area longer but then the contact area has to be connected with the crossing...

Hello DasBert33. I am sorry to be so thick but I do not quite understand what you mean. No I did not connect the 400mm. I have the piece of gray track then one piece of short track with the blue arrows each side of that them 400mm of C track each side of that with the links cut as on page15 of the instruction booklet. Many thanks Charles |

The order should be: 1. One track with blue arrow where the barriers should go down. 2. Some tracks with cut connection between trails. 3. Grey track. 4. Optional some more track with cut connection 5. Second track with blue arrow.
The arrows must be at the same side, and the grey track must also be turned the right way. If you travel one direction only, 4 could be omitted, barriers may go up instantly when the last car has left.

Short circuits? First thing that comes into my mind is to check the tracks you've done the surgery. Any metal bent that now connects the rail with the center studs? I guess inspection will show the error.
It could also be something wrong with power supply. If you run trains with MobileStation (just guessing) it's transformer should be used for the MobileStation only; you need an extra accessory transformer. This one feeds the level crossing with the yellow socket and cables; the transformers brown should be connected to the rail (outside the LC area).
