I accidently received a shipment of a model 70000 caternary starter set from a dealer. I was not unhappy and decided to keep it and try it out.

It really adds to the layout, and I like it.

It is mounted on C track and using the height guage it measures a 4 on the little guage which indicates Fleischman Profi.

It appears to run ok, but the indicator for marklin C Class is number 7 on the guage.

Is it ok to be mounted on C track, but giving the measurement of Fleischman Profi ? Will I run into any problems ?

Frostie,

I am surprised it measures a four. I have it mounted on the layout next to C just as it comes as shown in the instructions and it measures a 7. It works fine.

Everything seems to run OK. I am attaching the masts to the track using the little clips, so that might be the measurement issue.

However, I will just have to see how ut works with time.

Frostie,

If you are using the metal clips to the C track you should be fine.

Frostie,

I have measured the distance between the top of a rail on C track and the bottom arm of the catenary mast and it is aprox. 2 5/8 inches. If you are anywhere close you will be within a good tolerance. However, the side to side adjustment is critical particulaly on the narrow Swiss pantos.

Hope this helps.
