Does Viessmann make Marklin's catenary?
If so, is there any real difference between the two? Does one offer pieces the other does not?

Thanks
Matt

DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Hi Matt,

Yes, No and Yes!

The Viessmann catenary is identical to Marklin's except for the colour of the masts and the wires. I think the wire is slightly thinner too. Viessmann make some lengths of wire that do not correspond to the Marklin radii, and they also make some useful masts and brackets not available from Marklin.

The catenary on my Layout is Viessmann, as I found they made a starter set at a very attractive price which Marklin couldn't match.

Of course this only applies to the newer Marklin catenary. The older style was also made by Electrotren, and is easily found on ebay in both versions. I don't like the look of the older version because of the way the wires "bend" in mid air to follow curves. ThumbDown

Thanks Ray. It looked the same to me, but sometimes pictures do not give enough detail.
