Hi can anyone help ? I have been given a marklin turntable 7186. The condition isn't great but it seems to work. The blue controller with the 2 red buttons looks melted and broken someone has tried to solder pieces of steel to the switch internally. Is it possible to use a toggle switch in its place and what configuration of switch do I need.
Thanks

It would be better to just get a new control box. Marklin #40185

I agree with Mikey. My turntable was missing the controller. I tried different switches and ways to control the turntable and in the end I just ordered a like new original control box on eBay. Works like a charm nowBigGrin

Hi,

The simplest way is to get a new switch. It is still available. The number is now E401850: http://www.maerklinshop....s/32667/turntable-switch

At http://www.jk-webagentur...ibe%207186%202011-09.pdf someone published an instruction how to make the switch yourself. If you can't read German try to copy the text to the Google-translator or a similar service. The document also includes some wiring-sketches where UZ means "clockwise" and GUZ means "counter-clockwise". "Taster" is a "push-button" and the "Schalter" is toggle-switch which has three steps: ON - OFF - ON.

Regards

Markus
