I been looking at the circuit tracks and have noticed that they can be also used for track occupancy and also still control turnout's ect

Has anybody used these for both and how did you find it

And did they work the way you wanted them to

The advantage of circuit tracks is that they can report the direction the train is moving. The disadvantage of them is that they only report cars with sliders so are not as good at block operation. Also, if you have a consist with cars with sliders for lighting or additional decoders each one will operate whatever you are having them do. But they work pretty well.

I use them in events for stop and go plus sounds and turnouts and signals. You can operate them in both directions if you want. Coaches with sliders you need to set delays to avoid coaches using the circuit track when not requred.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

I have a good number of M circuit tracks, but many started to stick after a while. Also, they are activated with each slider passing, so no good with lighted wagons. I changed everything to contact tracks, which work well with cs3 event commands and even better with PC software (Rocrail for me).
