Nice crocs,

But what about another real croc...the Seetal croc?

I don't see how a croc family can be complete without teh baby of the family. You have the parents, you have some relatives who moved to another country....

John

ps I recently picked up a digital 8/14 on ebay. Wow! Not technically a croc but has the same attitude. Maybe a distant relative!

<font face="Comic Sans MS]That's a very interesting site! Thanx!! As for crocs: I only collect '60s stuff and I can't afford a genuine '60s Märklin croc. So all I have that resembles a croc is a pretty standard 3022 that I managed to buy 3 or 4 years ago for € 75,=. See image.

That vintage lay-out is wonderful! There is some naive charm about the typical Märklin lay-outs of that era Cool. I have a simple diorama that I built in vintage style. As for a full lay-out or a next diorama, I'm still deciding whether or not to become a bit more realistic.

Francisco : not really planning on it no.. Not in H0 anyway, maybe in Z, because my current Z loco is a swiss re460..

I'm much more into steamers, the older the better, and the Japanese Shinkansen trains... For some reason I love those, especially the Nozomi 500 (http://home.earthlink.net/~ajeans2/japan/series500_2.jpg)

Steven, for being quite a scarce E94 variant M made her over a relatively long period of time: 1993 - 1998
And there was also a DC cousin: HAMO #8335

Martijn,

I know what you mean about the Shinkansen trains....they are very distinctive and a wonderful marriage of form and function much like the Crocs. And they have a wide range of shapes much like the Crocs. Whle I do not have any models (I don't run Z scale thoufhthe Kato models look fun) my son has a couple of pajama sets, Shinkansen is a branded line of clothes for kids in Japan. And to get the topic back on Crocs, maybe there should be some Croc-Wear.

Hi,

Would you say that the GG-1 is a gator, too ? Shure, the american version of the gator. Well, when I saw this lok for the first time I was afraid to be eaten up. Finally it ate my wallet only, so I am lucky.

BTW, you find almost all PRR gators here http://www.davesrailpix.com/prr/bvpr.htm

It was difficult to ban the special green of the GG-1 on my digital cam. See what I've got.

GG-1 is nice, but I don't really consider it a croc since it is not articulated.

I know of several brands that have shinkansen, but not in Z scale. I've seen them in N scale though (I still have a bunch of that stuff as well), and several in H0 as well.

As for the croc, my H0 layout I'm planning to make late 19th early 20th century bavarian, so the croc won't fit there. However, I might very well go for something more fitting with Z (if I either don't have room for H0, or room enough for both), something like era IV-V DB/SBB.. We'll see what happens ;)

Hi John , with your layout the ceiling is the limit and I am sure you can pack a whole heap of layers in to accommodate many more locos!! Just have to invest in a step ladder biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

My problem is that I have this "deal" with my wife: Whatever I spend on M she gets in cash[:0][:0] So although she doesn't mind me ordering and ordering - I slowly go broke biggrinbiggrin - And the LokShop tells her exactly what I buy - thanks to their brilliant Autostatus - gives it away all the time[:0]
Oh well at least we keep it in the familywink[^][^]

Well, if your wife uses MS Outlook to download email, you can always sneak in a "Rule" to automatically delete those sneaky emails biggrin!

Just select "Tools" in the menu bar and choose the "Rules Wizard" entry.....

And the LokShop tells her exactly what I buy - thanks to their brilliant Autostatus - gives it away all the time

Well, if your wife uses MS Outlook to download email, you can always sneak in a "Rule" to automatically delete those sneaky emails biggrin!

Just select "Tools" in the menu bar and choose the "Rules Wizard" entry.....

Luis

You know Luis - I had set all those up in the rules (Payment@lokshop.de, Autostatus@lokshop.de, Autoreminder and mail@lokshop..., etc) but they don't always work - You know Outlook!!
Anyway it is probably best that my wife knows as the big boxes that I bring home all the time are a dead give away. And the parcel collection slips etc etc. She is very observant - can tell a new loco/wagon - in fact anything new she is onto me - so best keep it clean[^]wink

<br />Hi John, with your layout the ceiling is the limit and I am sure you can pack a whole heap of layers in to accommodate many more locos!! Just have to invest in a step ladder biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I too have my 37522 Seetal lok on the way. It looks like I'll have to round all my own and my father's Gators up for a family photo when it arrives. The croc pit is getting pretty large at my house.....

Alberto, why not - she indeed resembles an half Gator SmileSmileSmile
When I was little I had a green E63 (my very first M loco). Looking at her I sometimes dreamed about
how it were to own a complete Cocodrillo [:p]

John

Seeing as we are stretching the definition of a "croc", how about my E91?

Stretching gives me no trouble. Since our politicians do it all the time ... [xx(]

Actually, John, I've also got a Blue E 94 (3422), but I don't have a photo of her at the moment.

I'll post one when I can.
