Hey fellas,
Just wondering if there's any news on the grapevine regarding a new E 44 model? The latest one produced was model 37440 which was HEP with a horn sound and marker lights, non MFX. I believe the actual model was the same mould as the earlier ones just maybe with more detail?
This model was discontinued a while ago. Any idea if Marklin are working on a new one? |

According to the database, the latest version of E44 is 39440 from 2006 to 2008 - this is now red-flagged though.
The last 34440/37440 already use can motor (glockenmotor) with all axles powered. The 39440 still uses the same tooling. The only difference is that M* had replaced the can motor with a compact Sinus motor (Driver board should be upgradable to SDS standard) plus a MFX decoder.
I think it would be a matter of time before another version is released. |
Now collecting C-Sine models. |

I have the 34440 and it is a great loc and very strong puller. This Delta loc has his lights always on. It will pull everything you have. |

Hello Davy, and all -
Can you or someone help explain how to remove the body of the 34440? The instruction leaflet is not clear. I need to set the lok address, but also am interested in adding a LokSound3 sound decoder. I use the 6021 controller.
Advice is appreciated.

Hi, Peter,
two screws, reachable from the bottom through the trucks. You'll need a slim screw driver. |

Hi Eric, I have a 37440 and am very happy with it. It has plenty of detail like separate hand rails on front and rear body sections, roof transmission gear, and cooling coils. The rear lights go red - white for forward. Whistle is realistic and sharp. Driving is very smooth, and controllable to very low speeds. It does not have a particularly high speed threshold, but then this may be digitally adjusted, I am not sure. A heavy locomotive, full metal, weighing just under 600 grams.
I would certainly recommend getting one if you like it.
regards Kimball
