Oh, you mean a repeat of last years second Insider Model, but I suspect it will be another year before they do.

Maybe they will present more, but don't forget there is the Insider RAm and the ICE4 already announced (even if announced in 2019). There will also probably be an Insider 2 a surprise locotive later in the year.
Maybe the BigBoy will have synchronized steam...

I thought that there will be another version of the br 75.4, differing from the Insider 39753.

And I feel that I will keep my good old 3106, as 450€ seems quite expensive.

I just hope that the Insider 2 lok will be an interesting tank engine, as it is the case since some years.

This enables you to dominate the news cycle, and be the center of attention vs a voice in the crowd at Nuremberg.

I suspect marklin is learning this, and the “regular” new items catalogue will be less new tooling, more repaints and rolling stock.

I look forward regardless!

That approach is a mixed bag. A trade fair (for industry and journalists) has the benefit of getting your direct customers (the dealers and the journalists) there en-mass and they will cover your product. If you do your own thing to try and dominate the mythical-short-lived news-cycle, you might get coverage all by yourself on a given day, but have a lot less of the dealers/press there so the coverage will not be as broad. But then todays world most news is internet distributed anyway, so it matters not one bit from the consumer perspective. We will watch the Märklin stuff whenever it comes out, be it on a day with a lot of other stuff, or all on its own on a day. Who else is announcing product on that day matters nothing. Now in the space where the average consumer is a lot less educated and involved with the product, such as consumer electronics, that 'my own day' approach may have some value, but in a hobby space, I don't think it does. (Despite what the journalists and bloggers would suggest)

Um, a Jim Knopf start set? Will this have an HO sized loco then, instead of the 'huge' loco originally produced?

maybe this is a way to sell all the wagon sets that still seem to be available.

For me, the Be 4/6 would be of more interest if it’s the 12301...

https://en.m.wikipedia.o...SBB-CFF-FFS_Be_4/6_12301

...rather than the 12302-12342 prototypes, of which some models are already offered by Roco...

Just picked up the 2019/2020 catalogue from the Marklin shop in Rotterdam.
On page 7 there is a Jim Knoop (Dutch) starterset number 29179 (not 29199).
Knoop means 'Button" or "Knot",also used for a nautical mile (1,852 mtrs).
The loco is 10.5 cm high on a 3029 look a like wheelset.
On page 219 there is a 72786 3D puzzle related to Jim Knoop/Knopf with a fairy tale style island to construct.
However this puzzle is not 1/87 scale and not suitable for C track,it says.

No sign as yet of set 29023.
NS series (Reihe in German) 700 is curently a two axle Dieselshunter, the model would be new to Marklin.
The prototype is Vossloh G 400 B.
The old series NS 700 was a three axle Dieselshunter with coupled wheels, never issued by Marklin.
An entirely new model for a starterset?
I doubt it.
it probably is the Henschel DHG 700 (Marklin 3088 etc.) in a fantasy NS livery.
The brochure with 2020 news would be available later this month i was told.
Have more than you show, speak less than you know (Shakespeare).

Yeah mine were too initially but after the mention of little Era2 I kind of knew what to expect. I was hoping for a D311 (V188) in grey colors as the Gauge1 model from recently, but I knew chances were slim. The 95 004 is nice but maybe not special enough.

I've had a quick flick through, and at first glance the following have caught my eye:

Br75.4
Br95
Class 66 diesels
Blue SBB Re4/4 I
SNCF tinplate coaches (Already have a 3038)
Henschel EA500 (as an exercise for detailing and/or weathering)

I'll wait for a list of prices and release dates before deciding.

The Insider 2020 car is nice too. I like tank cars. At least that one I will get (automatically).

The prices are shown in the German edition that you can get on Drehscheibe-Online, under 06 Modellbahn

Best to provide the actual link when making reference to one.

German PDF can be found at: (Quite slow)

I wonder whether the class 66 is a cooperation with ESU. The smoke generator and lighted control panel are similar to their product.
