hello:

I was surfing and found the new items for 2004 for ESU at lokshop.de and saw this interesting new controller. Since I do not speak German, I was not able to obtain any details.

However it is a very attractive item and appears to be a wireless item vs. the control cable for the new Marklin mobile station.

Has anybody looked at this item, and if so do you have any comments on it ??

I would hope that Marklin might develop this the mobile technology with the wireless feature.

Hello Frostie, ESU remote control uses radio frequency and allows you to control 80 locos and 256 turnouts/signals when connected to a 6021.
Uhlenbrock will offer in September this year a 6021-LocoNet-Adapter with an InfraRed remote control for 80 locos and 320 turnouts, with the possibility of connection for other LocoNet devices. This adapter is cheaper (abuot 160 USDollars) than ESU M.C., but ESU's has a nice display and a wheel for speed control. Both devices increase the address range of your 6021. However, for those who already have an Intellibox, IRIS is the best option, in my opinion.
Hope this can help.

When I first saw the ESU mobile control last year, I thought it was a "must have" item since it looked very easy to use. But since it has not been available until now, and the price is also a bit high for an Intellibox user compared to Iris, the battle of wireless remote control for Märklin is open... The ESU, as I understand, connects to the I2C port of a 6021/IB.
