I recently got the ESU mobile control II and took it to the local club to try it out under their JMRI. According to ESU' newest update, if I understand it correctly, I should be able to use their app under JMRI instead of Engine Driver. I will admit that I didn't update it before heading out, so that might be the issue, but while I was at the club, I could only run locos under Engine Driver. Unfortunately I couldn't find any recent videos explaining on how to do so. I will say that I did update the firmware once I got home and will test it out again in the near future.

I believe you need to load Engine Driver onto the MCII. It is essentially a specialised Android device.

You would be best to ask this on the JMRI email list at groups.io
