Has anyone use the ESU mobile control 5110 with a Marklin 6021? If so, what was your experience with it, and has anyone tried using it with a 6021/connect 6021/cs3 combination? Cheers…. Mike Edited by user 27 March 2024 09:12:15(UTC)

Hi,
I dont think you can use a ESU mobile control 5110 with a Marklin 6021, since the mobile control relay on a network connection to the central unit. As far as i know the 6021 does not have any option to connect to a network.
The ESU mobile control 5110 is based on android, and I've used it with the windigipet app and the remotecs2 app. |

The ESU mobile control 5110 is based on android, and I've used it with the windigipet app and the remotecs2 app. The unit I am looking at is designed with a base that can plug into the side of a 602. See photo below. I’m curies if anyone here has used it and if they thought it is a good unit. IMG_0157.png (3,808kb) downloaded 37 time(s).

Hello Mike,
I have had such a unit and it worked good with a M6021, at the time I had no other control units of any kind.
Unfortunately the handset gave me a lot of trouble, mostly it switched off when pressing certain buttons (for example when selecting another loco) so I brought the thing for recycling.
My advice for you is, don't buy or use the mobile control 51100 anymore, it is way to old and ESU doesn't support it anymore.
Greetings, Tony.

.... I agree with this too. It was good, when it first arrived and then there were more and more problems as it got older. It was android-based, but not configured to be updated properly and Google kept trying to treat it like a mobile phone and loading all sorts of rubbish on to it and filling up the available storage space. I used it with the eCos only and not the 6021. So, the advice is good. I would look for another solution. |

Thanks guys. It wasn't a specific plan to solve a problem, just one came up at a good price. I wouldn't be looking to update it, so getting loaded up with unnecessary junk wouldn't be an issue

I had one many years ago, connected to an Intellibox. As far as I remember, it worked fine for a year or two, but then one day the small wheel broke and disappeared inside the handset. Btw: It was certainly NOT Android-based. That was the newer ESU 50113/50114.
