Hello everybody,

Last friday I was invited to hear a lecture about ESU's Mobile Control,

I Would like to share my experience with aal of you.... WAUW !!!!

Here are some features:

-100 loc's can be stored in one controlSmile
-Turnout's and signals can be controlledbiggrin
-information about locs can be send between to handhelds
-Side is like small tv remote control
-one hand use only ( new marklin system 2 hands for holding needed)
-loc's can be given there proper name
-no Wire ( M** Mobile unit, Still limited by a wire)
-Fully marklin compatible (reciever can be plugged into control unit)
-It can be secure against intruders. If you have one, take it to an exhibition, turn it on, once locked on to an unsecured receiver, start playing with the exhibitionists train. He will be qpuzzled for a while if he is unaware[:o)]

I Held it in my hand, very ergonomic. I used it, very users friendly.
I might buy it soon and stop thinking about marklin systems.

Working range is 100 meters in open air. the used Radiofreq is 433 MHz. This is a free frequency which means anybody can use it without patent or licence. So interference might jam the signal but still unlikely at close range.

One receiver can handle 4 handhelds. Maximum 4 receivers can be coupled, so 16 handhelds on one track for somebody who's dreaming of a smaller layout biggrin

Price : 285 € for starterset ( one receiver + one handheld)
225 € for each extra handheld

In my humble eyes, it smells a lot like the Marklin Mobile Station ( Which will be made by ESU as well)[8]

greeeeeeeeeeeeettttttzzzzzzzzzzz

Thanks Dikken, this was where I was waiting for.

Jimbo S, according to ESU website, www.loksound.de, English language version too, the mobile control is available since march this year.

Greetings from Tony.

Thanks for the info.
You still need to connect it into the old 6021 or an IB,
if I understand it right ??
Thats makes the price a bit high (the 6021 are getting real cheap nowadays), but anyway DAISY seems like the thing for me.

Connected to an IB (on the I2C interface) it still has the same limits as a 6021. No 28/128 steps DCC control, no adresses above -80, no functions above -F4 aso.

Unless you really want a wireless solution it's probably not the best choice, but it's a nice addition for the 6021... And the 6021 will still be able to connect to the Central Station ... ?

But personally I prefer big boxes with one knob for each loco, not fiddling with miniature buttons!!!

I too prefer the traditional controls but when it comes to trouble shooting I wish I would have a wireless control so I could be right at the trouble spot and see what is happening and be able to shut down the layout or speed up/slow down the train for better testing.

I am currently working on a project that will let me do this (I chose to build instead of buy for the love of the hobby). My project is to add electronic switches to a 6036 control f80 so that I can control a locomotive just like the 6070 unit could. This method will save space and the chances of someone needing the same controller at the same time is slim.

correct, although the system is an addition to different kind of systems: motorola 14: marklin digital,
DCC14, DCC28, DCC128: lenz , Roco

It is of course limited the system used.

The buttons on the mobile control are larger than the ones on the control unit!
