Hi everyone. I'd like to upload photos of my layout from Facebook and/or my iPhone, but I don't know how. Is this even a possibility now?
Jhuan: I noticed that you upgraded the software. No problems yet for me.
Cheers!

You can export the photos from your iPhone to your computer using iPhoto or simply by dragging the file to your desktop. With a iMac, you will have to "export" the photo to your desktop as a small or medium .jpeg. For windows, you can use paint, resize (reduce) the photo by at least 50% and then "save as" a new file on your desktop. Once that is done, open the following page: http://www.marklin-users...s/upload/uploadstart.aspFollow the instructions. Once you have uploaded the photo, copy the link provided and paste into your message using with no spaces between the link title and the markers. Go back to the website to upload the next photo (one at a time) until all your photos are uploaded. If you don't want the photos to appear in the post, but rather to have it so that members can click on the link to view the photos, replace the img with url in both markers. ...and there you have it Regards Mike C

The trouble with direct upload from iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod) is that Safari on these devices does not have access to photos taken by the device due to the strict "object space" restrictions that each iOS app has... Ie Safari cannot directly access the "object space" of another app like the photo/camera, iMovie and such...
I have actually sent a suggestion to Apple's usability designer group to make at least the "Photo Roll" available for Safari to access, but I don't think they will listen to a nutty Webmaster of an obscure model railroad site regarding their object orientated design in iOS which is "safe" regarding single apps but very limited with interaction between apps... But it's their philosophy, each app has to own its own files within its "object space"... So stuff has to be exported/imported via iTunes between apps that support this functionality.. Just check your iThingie apps in the iTunes application, and you will be surprised how few of them actually support this... |
