Joined: 18/03/2021(UTC) Posts: 13 Location: Wisconsin, Oshkosh		I recently bought a Sprint set. It includes roadway, a rectifier and cars so I am able to run the cars. The tires are probably the original and are very hard so have little traction. Does anyone have any experience with trying to increase the tire traction? The motor ( Inline version 2) on one of the cars does not run. Any sources for used parts in USA? I replaced the DC motors in two of the cars with very small Mabuchi motors, they originally had Inline version 1 motors. I have spent time on the Swedish Sprint website that was suggested in this forum. It is a great resource for troubleshooting problems. They apparently sell parts and aftermarket tires. Does anyone have any experience with purchasing parts or service through that website? I found parts available on eBay in Germany. So that would be an option. Thanks in advance. Roger

Joined: 18/02/2008(UTC) Posts: 1,265		I had one set some years ago (around 50 years :-) ) and the only thing I remember about tires was that the original ones were very thin and cars were considerably faster, specially in curves, with the larger tires. Unfortunately and opposite to what happened with the trains, I don't know where it is. Miguel

I took some measurements of the wheels and found the dimensions were very close to CB 15mm x 7mm wheels. To make a long story short I found that Quick Slicks CB28F and CB29XF Silicone tires for 15mm x 7mm wheels worked very well on my track. They were $6.99 per pair. Now I am trying to find an 8 tooth pinion gear that will fit on the 1.5mm motor shaft. Hope this is useful information. Roger

He occasionally has a complete motor / gearbox for sale, and I bought one for a car I have that didn't have a motor or rear wheels.
