Dave, NZ, (bigdaddy)
You've posted the locos in the 2011 edition so we can't comment on it in there.
Anyhow, these loco you've received look fantastic, did you buy them at a discount ?
Ian, these carriages (4) are they for the Norwegian Railways ?

Hmmmmm, I did unlock the topic (at least I clicked on the Unlock button) - unless Juhan locked it again! I'd better send the Boss a PM!
The Br042 came from one of the ETS sales. The Schienenbus and Br101 came from ebay dealer hr4920, who also included in the package quite a nice Liliput freight car with the hr4920 logo on it.
The Br03 came from ebay dealer oktopussi.

Ray, I was very lucky this year, but last year there was no Marklin It would be nice to run the 00792 as a complete train and I might do it just to make a video for the Forum (Ian we could do this in February if you are in agreement), but on a regular basis you would need some rather long platforms !!! During previous discussions in the Forum, I had said that in designing my new layout I am going to work on an operating length for passenger consists of six coaches, otherwise it is my thinking that things become too long. The 00792 set has 20 coaches representing four different home bases, and so that would say each train could (should) be around five coaches long. I am sure someone will be able to confirm this. Ray my biggest problem is I have no layout, as you can see from the photos I was (the FD made me pack it away after Christmas) operating a carpet-bahn, which does not have the same fun-value. I got a nice size garage no to hopefully develop this year, fingers crossed. BR Glenn

I used to rely on a carpetbahn too, a few years ago, but now I have my layout. It may be small, but it means I can run trains at a moments notice. |

Yes, Glenn, that's the idea: 4 trains with 5 coaches each (4 baggage cars included). But they are packaged separately because coaches of different home bases can be found in one train. Some trains only had three coaches while others had ten. |

These arrived last week, but I've only just taken some photos: as seen in the Insider 2011-05 (Advertising Models), from Rheingold Tokyo, a Märklin dealer in Tokyo. It (がんばろう! 日本) translates (roughly) as "Do your best, Japan!" One assumes it is a "motivational" slogan after the earthquake/tsunami ordeal they went through. |

I got some Brawa freight cars. The tank car currently has an issue where the decoupler will disengage in R1 curves, which I have everywhere, but I hope this will be alleviated by giving it a Märklin coupler. The difference in design philosophy compared to Märklin is apparent. They are better detailed (the spare parts list for a simple covered goods wagon has 32 items!), and everything seems to be to scale - the downside being that it isn't very durable. I'm a bit worried about breaking or bending something when installing couplers, which in my experience takes some force...

Thanks. A bit offtopic, but is there a trick to removing and installing NEM couplers? It seems to require way too much force to safely do it on some of these wagons.

Those Brawa wagons look great! Of course, they will be more delicate because of the fine detailing, but this is expected. Elukka, when removing couplers from NEM pockets I find it easier if I squeeze the ends of the coupler shaft where they stick out of the back of the coupler pocket, and then I pull on the coupler. I use a pair of fine, needle nose pliers for this. |

Super Japanese wagons, Damon Wonderful sets, Glenn Very nice freight cars Elukka, Great coaches, Glen For me a second 4029 in its original green box. In really great condition. And I was happily surprised that it was another construction than my previous 4029. You can see the differences between them in the last picture. The old one has a grey roof and "deep" windows, the new one has a grey roof on top and gently fading to black on both sides. The windows are different and closer to the sides. Great ! Maybe something made from Kiwi Fruit in Europe ?? Greetings from UK Glenn to another Glen half a world away, Not sure to be honest, I currently know very little about the wagons, but I am assuming the Tisserand marque is either southern French or more likely Swiss, and the Swiss are famous for experimenting with fruits and liquors as are the French, who can forget Midori (although I think in honesty that was a British invention). I would imagine a Kiwi liquor would be quite sour possibly ideal for Margaritas and Daquaris. Can any Forum member advise on the Kiwi Kiwi liquor? BR Glenn
