If I were to get some Trix carriages,I was wondering can they run on Marklin track with the original wheels or I will need to change the wheels?

They will run on the DC Wheels,
However when ordering from a M Supplier ask for the AC Wheel sets.

No problem about it! Trix carriages has about 1,1 mm wheel flanges. Brawa has about 0,8 mm in wheel flanges and that will not suit so good for Marklin tracks if you are speeding fast with yours trainset. |

Most Marklin dealers will switch wheel sets when asked if you buy Trix cars for Marklin layouts. I have a few TRIX cars and love them.
It is not necessary UNLESS you use track occupancy on Marklin layouts by way of isolating one rail. I have not changes out wheelset as I do not yet use the isolated rail track occupancy sensor...at this time. I am building a new layout and will have this type of track occupancy. I may only change out one trucks wheel sets if I need to.
If you have only the odd car here and there, not an issue. If your train set is ALL TRIX with the isolated wheel sets, OR several TRIX cars on the tail end with the insulated 2 rail wheel sets, track occupancy will see nothing and may switch turnouts too soon or cause collisions. |
