That and a new 1 Gauge version of the DR class 08, which is based on the French 241 loco class.

Heavier, better pulling, better details, long distance headlights (brighter though?), cab lighting, world of operation, and one with dialogue and a driver figure. No doubt worth the premium over the $235 US I paid for my #36182 MRCE vectron. I wonder if they added 1 or 2 more traction tires? Roco's have 3 total.

Joined: 23/07/2014(UTC) Posts: 8,195 Location: ENGLAND, Didcot		Not much in there for me, apart from the possibility of lighting units for the 4313/4/5 series thunderboxes, and the store wagon, and maybe another Start Up wagon as the Ritter advertising is different on the two sides. I want the light fittings to put into the Rugen set coaches and a 4315 gepackwagon that I got to make up a train to represent the trip that Carsten organised about 20 years ago (sheesh - is it really THAT long ago ). Those among us who are into container unit trains will have a field day deciding which to have or maybe go all-in and get the lot. In the Trix selection they only get the two rail versions of the same locos, with references to the marklin rolling stock. The Minitrix brochure looks like it is an A3 sheet with two wagons and a loco. I might get the Schuco set of four vehicles, and the Landrover on rails, but will have a think about these. I guess under the current conditions these are about all we could expect as offerings.

I didn't pick up on it initially, but the light fitting and pick up shoes for the donnerbuchsen are a collaboration with Viessmann. The segment showing the new Skoda loco in Coca-Cola livery has most of the insulators holding the busbar on the roof are not seated where they should be. Even in the segments with it moving on the track you can see that the busbar is unclipped from the insulators at one end, the same as it is on the display turntable. Surely these details aren't that hard to fix. Then when we come to introducing the Mini-Club items they bring in a guy who looks like he has walked in off the street wearing a hoodie to present them! At least for all the other products the people introducing the products wore suits or were otherwise smartly dressed. Then the same guy goes on to introduce the G1 items.

The Unimat model for example also. Marklin usually doesn't include a loco driver in their models cabs, but Fleischamnn and Roco always have since I've had any. Thus Fleischmann ho models are now Roco, so I'm also wondering too about the new Vectrons. Except of course a Roco body is plastic., but the cab ends of a Marklin are too. At least on the 3600 series Vectrons.

Many Trix models are prepared for train drivers, some even include them at least in the box. Maybe they had a Trix engineer on the job.

I already have the Roco model and am seriously considering the LS Models locomotive with the Ceneri Livery. I was expecting the possibility of a RailCare Rem 476 and the long shot was the Akiem/SBBCI BR 186, but a non-Hobby Vectron is welcome. It would be great if it was designed so that it could operate flawlessly with the Re 474 and ES64F4 that Maerklin already released so that they could be operated in tandem. It is nice to see new models of AAE/Railion NS Sgns cars with Den Hartogh containers. The only problem is that I already had the 47052 and was hoping for a reissue of the 47053 with the 23 foot tank containers. https://www.haertle.de/o...-nl-sonderserie-h0-3.jpg My 39199 already ordered. That said, if anybody has a 47053 and is willing to let it go, please let me know. Regards Mike C

At least on the 3600 series Vectrons. Maerklin heard it from a lot of people when they only released the BR 185 as a Hobby model. They decided to release a few models based on the Trix version. I think that the popularity and the increase in the number of operators using the new Vectron series convinced them that it was time to release a regular production version of this new locomotive design and I am pleased to see this. Maerklin is a little late to the game, but I am sure that there are a number of modellers who will like the idea of a metal instead of plastic body. As far as drivers in the cab, my Re 482 (22631) and Crossrail 185 (22636) which were upgraded by shell swap with 37446s both have drivers in little bags in the box. Regretfully they have both now suffocated due to lack of air in the bag ;) As far as drivers generally or locomotive ends with coupling removed and details added, one of the things that I liked about modelling European was that you could uncouple a locomotive and it could then move to another train and leave in the other direction. If you have one end without coupling, you have to manually rotate the loco or have a turntable to turn it around. If the driver is in the cab facing the train, it looks kind of funny. I used to love modelling a Kopfbahnhof and trying to imitate Zurich HB. That is one of the things you can do if you have couplings on both ends. But, I can understand why some might like details like the closed ends or driver in the cab. Regards Mike C

First reaction – gosh that’s expensive at 349 Euros they are usually a couple of hundred Euros. Look closer – the lok looks very good, livery and quite extensive digital functions, the wagons are proper wagons with NEM couplings and you have a full MS2 set. That really is a start set that if the bug bites you can move on to the full range. Well done M.

You also didn't see it being really tested, it ran back and forth for a bit, but not really through the torture tracks bits. Joined: 21/02/2011(UTC) Posts: 382		My Marklin shopping these days is pretty slim (my 8K+ of HO stuff just doesn't fit in my apartment so it's relegated to pieces at my parent's place, in the hope of coming out one day when I can finally get a house (LOL)), but I like to grab nice things when I see them, so the Marklin branded container wagon and Magazin car are it for me from these ones. However in light of that, I think it might be finally time to get some Z scale on the boil... :D

You knew what it is, I only saw the front nose photo above. The 08 and 12 were double and multi units. The 92 a single unit testing prototype. All MAN diesel hydraulic driven. Then there were the ET series looking the same.

About the logos, Yes, but no pictures from the black side with the Piko logo to be found in the Marklin documentation, it is only mentioned in the text. (unlike on the Piko website) There is no sign of a Trix HO version, or a Piko AC version either. Now that would have been funny I guess. BTW a real collaboration (beyond a single loco like this) can only mean less competition and higher prices for the end customer, so I'm not sure whether I would like it.

Hmm, i don't see it as producing higher customer costs. For the H0 loco if the two manufacturers can use one body then that will hold the cost of producing the body. Also Piko will be able to do an O scale and Marklin a G1 version as well. I could see manufacturers doing more of this, Marklin has collaborated with other manufacturers for a considerable number of years, and their current major collaboration is with Viessmann for the track tamper. Trix has only survived because it was for a long time a collaboration partner of Marklin, to the extent that Marklin effectively had to buy them out at the end of 1996 when Trix was about to turn their toes up.
