The box looks like it is in very good shape.

So, Nev, you like Texas, metal boxcars or both? I'm amazed that anything from Texas would be of interest to someone living in Brisbane except Texas is somewhat like Australia in that everything is big like the country.

Larry,
At the train Show , among the best that was available from this stall that I could afford. Brand New/ I run a UN Rail way system, Swiss, Australian, American, German, Belgium. Nothing is sacred.
He used to own a Marklin Shop and when he sold it the buyers could not afford all of his stock so he kept it. Lots of all Metal cars and sets. Heavy Metal Locos. A full Alskan Set. Box Cars and Locos, Kinh Ludwig Loco and car set. It was like being in Aladins Cave

Up by one today

I stepped in at my regular MMR dealer in Oslo to pick up some small parts I ordered some time ago.
In a shelf I saw a Primex 4544, banana car, from 1982 - 1984. I just had to buy it. 10 Euro.

About 150-160 Marklin HO freight wagons per my notes. Mostly from 4500-4600 series of rolling stock. Also have a few newer boxed railcar sets (About 10) not included.

I like to collect, and run, Marklin wagon "sets" from era III. That is sets with two or more wagons. I like them because they come with made-up loads, very professionally done, and that saves me a lot of time. I also like to make my own loads, and that also adds to the interest of freight trains.

So I have been gradually purchasing these sets as I find them. Some go back to 1992.

My latest is the 48801 "Heavy Freight Car Set" of 5 wagons, from 2002. Most of the sets seem to be available brand new, sometimes at Marklin dealers, and still on the shelf after a number of years.

regards
Kimball

Hi, Steven and Svein,
Yes, I really like 46141 (less than carload set of 2 covered wagons with truck and load, DB era III). I like other Marklin and Trix wagons sets too. The metal MAN truck model is superb.
Just a question. Do you think the truck is 1:87, or more like 1:80, or 1:72?
regards
Kimball

Hi Steven,
I like the sets you purchased.
I also have a 46141, which I purchased from my dealer here, Nathan's Trains (in Australia).

I use the truck and cars on my layout, but I left the bag of flour sacks in the plastic wrapping. I thought the sacks would be too easy to get lost, and besides there may be another generation who will enjoy the "new" sacks.

regards

Congratulations, Steven.

I have the 2005 Museum set, bought at my local dealer in Oslo. My wife has not put the seeds in the ground yet.
Best regards Svein, Norway

I want to know if any of you carry seperate insurance on your collection? If so who do you use. My home insurance carrier limits the amount they will cover on my home owners policy, and I carry a seperate but expensive one with CHUBB.
