Thanks for the nice pictures, Cem.

ADrian, It will be possible, However the Decoders are swapped. Remove the Loksound 3 Decoder and insert an Loksound MFX Decoder. It is not an add on but a replacement.

Nev hi,
Thanks - although I haven't run it yet, my first impression of it is very very good indeed.
I try to check as many as possible models from different manufacturers - but unfortunately i have been able to keep very few models apart from Marklin. I guess this will change with HAG.
The only problem with them is that they only do Swiss locomotives and i cannot afford to jump into SBB stuff right now. This being said, i will be in Switzerland in June and plan to buy some rolling stock (viva tax-free
) - they look awesome indeed.
By the way, are HAG rolling stock mostly metal too - including the early coaches?
Best regards,
Cem.

Hi Cem,
Sorry for intruding,but...
First of all congratulations with your new HAG Re 6/6.Funny,my first HAG locomotive is also an Re 6/6 and I'm hooked for ever I guess.Like Nev ,I have to devide my attention between Märklin and HAG now.My seventh HAG loco is on its way!
HAG rolling stock are excellent too, although I have some of the older coaches which don't have metal bodies and are a bit rudimentary in detail by todays standards.
The flat freight cars I have are all made off metal, very heavy, and well detailed.
Kind regards
Guus

Hi Guus,
Why be sorry? Thanks for valuable input. That exactly what I was afraid of ... full-metal cars! I have to have some. I guess I'll be broke upon returning from Swiss [xx(]
And worst of all, I will visit St. Gallen - where HAG is located [:p]

Current Carriages have a Metal Chasis (Heavy, ) and Plastic Bodies (well the 3 I have are) . Have some light defusers in place ready for lighting Kits.
SOme dealers on their Web Sites show a lot of Hag Items but May not have Stock.
If you are going to the factory then you will see what they have .
Lucky you,
Nev

Hi HAG coaches other than double deckers are now almost impossible to get and at present HAG will not be making any more. As Nev says the chassis is metal and the body plastic.
Just now HAG I understand are on holiday and everything closes down. Although they make great models HAG is the worst firm I have seen in model rail and I am amazed they are still in business.
If you like their stuff then I would buy now if the models you wish are available.
David
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

David hi,
I know what you mean. Well, that's one thing we have to accept. Considering paying about €80 - 100 per coach, I'd prefer all metal ones. And actually i'm more interested in freight cars.
Nev, i intend to drop in their factory. Will send you a postcard
Joke aside, let me know if i can be of any help while i'm there.
Regards,
Cem.

Maybe they play hard to get, which is an old marketing concept [:o)]
Seriously, I seem to understand that they make small production batches of a certain model and it may take a while before they start manufacturing that specific model again.
For instance,it's been almost a year since they last produced the Re 6/6 "5000th Schienenfahrzeug". Soon available again in different liveries.
Recently HAG introduced a new topic on their website stating their production plans and listing models shipped, which is a nice gesture I think.
Off topic:
As it appears to me,with so many Märklin enthuasiasts equally fond of HAG,maybe we should consider a new topic or chapter on the Swiss brand.
Kind regards
Guus

YES!!! [:p]
I'm sure that Stefan wouldn't object against that either.
To be honest I was reluctant at first to post this idea while I could imagine that it may invoke some conflicts of interest and I want to emphasize that I absolutely do not intend to entice away people from the already existing excellent forums on HAG-one of which I'm a member- and I apologise if my suggestion could be interpreted as such.
Only a small niche on this forum wouldn't hurt I think.
Or a chapter called
"Models of other 3-rail brands"
which suits all and is likely to be more neutral.
Kind regards
Guus

I've been spending more and more time the at HAG forum the last few weeks. Personally I don't think I'd spend less time there if I had another place to talk about HAG or swiss models with fellow collectors here.
It just means a few more minutes on the computer.....

Hi all
Couldn't help myself
my new BR E10.12 Rheingold set...runs like a dream
From maerklin.de:

Finally scored my 3159 OBB orange krok on eBay. Been looking for this baby for years. This one has hardly ever seen the rails. It is in new condition.

I am running it here om my Rollenprufstand under analog, since it is not (yet) digital and would take off like a scared rabbit on my layout.

Hi,
Most of my locomotives are reviewed in my site along with photos of prototypes in two categories - collection:
http://marklinciyiz.biz/...&id=34&Itemid=61
... and (sort-of) rolling stock (some will not run):
http://marklinciyiz.biz/...&id=27&Itemid=61
Great internet site. It's a pity that I do not understand your language, tekin 65.

Very nice locos here, and very nice lay-outs.It makes Monsterville look inadequite.[:(]
Anyhat,i now have 29 locos.Of these only 4 are diesels and the rest all steam.
What does come as a bit of a consellation,is that ive only been doing this for nearly 7 months.I doubt i will ever go to more than 50 locos.
I need to work on my rolling stock.I have less than 5 wagons per loco......[:p]

Thomas, I missed your post! That E10 is very nice. I did consider getting it, but my shopping list does not match my wallet, unfortunately!
Ron, lovely Austrian crocodile. I saw a real one by the trackside as I ran into Innsbruck from the Arlberg pass a couple of years ago. I just caught a glimpse, but it was very impressive!

Here's my latest purchase. A mint 3084, Br050. I caught a pic of it as I ran it round my layout a few laps. I'd better put it back in its box before those storm clouds get here!

My new Hercules Diesel also arrived this week, the first of my 2008 pre-ordered new items. I have a nice rake of Piko coaches to go with it.

My latest loco M* 37658, a Dutch Darling named "Carin"
Very nicely detailed, quite heavy. Model year is 2004, digital but non-fx, 5 star motor.
What are your experiences with this loco?
Should/can it be updated to mfx-sound using esu or märklin decoder?
Is there a better motor kit?
Thanks for your replies.
Regards,
Benny - Outsider and MFDWPL

Ron, I've been following ebay auctions of your new 3159 for a couple years now. It's very popular and hard to come by in that condition. Very nice!! [:p]

Hi Benny, nice diesel! Are you sure it's a 5 star motor? AFAIK all the Mak diesel models by Marklin have the "Glocke" type motor, which is dificult to improve on.
It should be possible to swap the 6090x decoder for a MFX, but I don't think there's much space for a speaker if you want sound.
Enjoy!
