Very nice, Cem.
Congratulations!
Pity about the HAGitis. Is it like an advanced form of MARKLINitis? I'm afraid there is no treatment!

How true Ray, how true. My only consolation is that they don't make other locos than Swiss if they did ... well, I don't even want to think that option regards, Cem. |

Steven hi, Yes, it is 3 rail digital. I suppose these sets are produced only in 2 rail version - which are easier to convert to digital. Regards, Cem. |

My local dealers new second hand section has proven to be a treasure trove in mint condition older Märklin - it's dizzying to think about all the money one could "save" 3 more entered the collection since last post. An Era I KPEV T18 (3305) retrofitted with 6080 decoder, an Era II E60 (37561), and an Era III BB 3600 "French Croc" (37332) [:p][:p][:p] |

Nice Swiss Collection, Ria.
I have only one of them, with the gauges (39610), but two more are on my wish list, the one with the tunnell drilling (39604) and the one with the Ce 6/8 II driving gear (37637). |

Thank you all for your comments. I like them all very much and I'm really happy that I finally got them all. Now my next plan for this year is to get a big boy and find a way to have a small semi-permanent small layout so that I can see them run. Thanks Ria

I particularly like the roof detail and the multi-system pantographs on this one.

Maybe one of these days I'll do my Swiss expansion and get some of these loks out of storage! |

New lok arrived today. 3312 T5 from 1987. It's taken about 6 weeks to get here from Germany. It'll get a 60760 conversion, and I think I might change the couplers to close couplers. Ray |

Very nice, Ray
I have converted one T5, 2857 from 1984, with 60921 and close couplers in holder 288930. Another, 3412 from 1996, is converted with 6090. It had close couplers. The third, 2865 from 1989, is converted with 60901. This also had close couplers. |

Very good, Lutz. Looks like it's definitely worthwile doing.
Cem, lovely close-ups. I'm not sure it is an easier conversion from a Hamo model. At least with my conversion you already have the slider bits. Are you going to leave it as a 3-pole motor?
Steven, those are 2 very nice streamliners you've got there. Congratulations!

Ray hi, HAMO locos are really easy to convert as they already have a field magnet and for the slider; all you have to do is to remove the 2 rail pickup shoe, and install a 3 rail one (done in 30 seconds). Check this out: As for 5 pole rotor, I'm not very sure. I bought this one to convert but it is not run at all (can tell from the last picture) so I might keep it for my collection, also I really cannot afford to invest in KPEV coaches as of now. Regards, Cem. |

I see. Looks easy enough!
I'll look out for Hamo bargains from now on. I find they tend to be cheaper on Ebay than the corresponding AC models.
Thanks Cem.

Whooohoo!!!! Last week I've added the nineth GT 2 x 4/4 (BR 96) to the collection, the new 37966. Anyone else who's got this model? (I'm rather curious whether there are any differences in performance compared to the 37964. I've got them both, but here in Sweden I don't have any way of testing this newly acquired beauty...) |
