And a couple of photos of the layout they will eventually run on.

The two tracks that head underground split up into a two track loop and a pair of hidden sidings so that trains can be sent back as if they have reached a line end and come back.
The curved turnouts split into a 4 track station and another set of curved turnouts will return it to two tracks which will loop around the back via ~3m of double track and join on the left (as seen in the photo) two track to head back to the main 6 track dead-end station.

Hmm ...this has crept up a bit.

How did that happen...

Anyway as the pound has sunk its time to lie low and build the layout....

Latest is a telex 1 10 2 , powerful loco.

For sheer joy old insider Br 10 is hard to beat.

As well there are some very old to be repaired locos from my father and my childhood, DA88, and pacific and V200 all in need of serious repair but look fine.

21, 18 digital, 3 delta. Also a Fleischmann Amtrak ICE, 610 pendolino railcar aqua/grey, a Piko A/C Taurus siemens digital dispolok, a 2-rail D/C 612 regioswinger nice but doesnt lean into curves like the fleischmann pendolino. Some cheaper American D/C locos. A GG1 in green from Mehano when they were made in Yugoslavia. Spring coupled cardanic drive, no weight and no traction!! I must have got it because it was inexspensive years ago. I was experimenting with the different choises and systems. I have a Penn Line Pennsylvania RR H-9 steamer from the 1950's, or early 60's. They were bought by Bowser, and are still available in kit form. It is an all metal engine with no corrosion. I also have a Korean FM brass AEM7 Amtrak electric (built by Asko of Sweden). I have enough to open a shop, but our economy is lousy, and the boss won't allow me to anyway.

Hello again. I forgot about my Roco items. A class 111 Lufthansa express set. A Frankfurt suburban mass transit ET 420/421 set S-Bahn orange/grey. A 4-car Orient express sleeping car set. A 50 Jare DB E-71 with thunderboxes set. A class E-18 Museum edition with book and cigar box. The DB 50 year set also has a book. The box for it looks like a big book. It has 2 3rd. class, and 1 second class, and a baggage "donnerbuchsen" cars.
I have a book all about the Chunnel and Eurostar. Train Nut!! "GUILTY"

I have just 1 locomotive.
It arrived yesterday and it's a classic 3048 Steamer. My first loc. I'm so happy Cool .

In about two weeks I will get another 3048, I was a bit too excited on ebay and won another auction too. Not sure what I'm going to do with two of them but at least i got them quite cheap.

And this i copied from the Ebay selling pictures.

I Need to do some maintenance, it's not running too smoothly right now... Should be a good way to get to know your loco. I'm thinking of a repaint too.

It is very nice. I would not paint it! Maybe just touch up the smoke deflectors. I like it's mild petina. repainting, unless maybe done by a good retorer, can decrease it's value. It diesn't look bad now. Surely an heirloom! Once you have it runniong smoothly, you may just like her the way she is!

Hello Trainee,

Nice nick! Smile

My first loko was also a 3048 and after 40 years i took it out the closet a few years ago. It was just like yours ... and my first question in this forum was: should i paint it? Everybody said "NO!", so i didn't.

Today i thank all the guys here for this. Just keep it as it is, if you like, just brush it with a bit of WD-40 and it will become too nice to touch again biggrin

Cem.

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments.
Stephen I especially like the 39370 BR101 of your inventory which is commemorating the World Soccer Cup of 2006 in Germany, right?
My next additions will be BR64, 39401 SNCF TEE, Ludmilla, 39183 BR218 in Turkis-Beige colouring, DSB Nohab Double Set and ICE-3.
I expect that I will take someday photos of each one of my locs and post them in a thread.

Picked up two mint condition, second hand sets at a local dealer a few days ago, 39700 RAm I TEE and 26511 Nahverkehr-Vendezug w. BR 140 and 3 "Silberlinge" ...

Both sets have distinct "custom-made couplers" and come w. decoder controlled interior lights and direction dependent white/red light shift [:p][:p][:p]

Best of all, the price was lower than what I see these sets go for on ebay so I used the philosophy: The more you buy, the more you save biggrin

<br />Just over a month ago i had nothing.Now i have 18 steamers and 2 diesels.

Ok ok ok.....its a bit of a lie,as i have 2 analog br 23's.1 is perfect the other is sans motor but looks perfect and can be used as "double up".Both are now retired.

There is 1 class 18 that is perfectly running, but analog. So it fills a shed with insulation tape over the shoe hehehehe.

Then ive got 1 analog br 44 with smoker and lights working, but sans engine as well.Bought it for next to nothing and im going to make me own langer heinrich or whatever they called it.biggrin

And there is 1 old Lima just to fill a shed with.

Ive got BR45 brand new
Ive got the streamlined class 10
Oilfired BR01
2 Br03's one with Witte 1 with Wagner deflectors.
The big 2-6-8-0 Borsig.
2 class 44's
1 class 52
1 3614 class 18.3
The V11 TEE

Ive already paid for 39050 and for a new class 44 with sound and stuff.

But for now thats enough.I need to get the lay-out up and running.

Lots of water ran under the bridge....

Let me recap.Including the 5 dead locos i spoke about last time, ive got 37 locos now [:0][:0]

I went absolutely apesh-t the last 3 months or so.It needs to stop. The wife is starting to pull the corners of her mouth down at me.

Apart from the normal BR01 BR03 purchases, the only special ones were the BR53 Borsig with condenser tender.39160 and 161,the 2 FrancoCrosi's.

The double diesel 37252 i think.Obviously the BigBoy and then the whole range of class 44's.The only one i havent got yet will be here soon,is the oil burning one.

Also got the class 51 with the brakeman tender.Im getting the 97 insider class 50 with condenser tender soon as well.

Only other purchases worth mentioning is the 37055 BR59 and the last green class 18.1

So hopefully by the end of next month i will be finished hehehehe.Oh yes and im also getting a class 55 for good money. Then im done for the rest of the year....promise.

Unless its awesomely nice.....biggrin

you stop counting when it hits three digits

then you start looking for place(s) to store them all
