One added to the collection today, if the 39970 is concidered to be a locomotive.

I like it. Nice engine sound and interesting functions.

Nev, you old dog!! Looks like you got it for a good price too!! A 3 car railcar train should look good on your layout. Time for another video!

BTW my BR01 came with a smoke unit, so it 'steams' as well. I got it for about $280 US, so much cheaper than new.
Also, no signs of any running problems with this model that others have reported!

Stephen, Yep, it is working OK. I have noticed some speed slow down when turning the smoke unit on, other than that the loco seems OK.

Sorry for the late comment but your Mom's day present is really fantastic!!! I wish I could run this great loc in my layout but unfortunately we tried with Alonso when he brought it some months ago and it kept derailing in every 360 mm curve (problem is that my layout has some really steep slopes and curves + slopes is a disaster for all steam locomotives and especially Big Boys). Enjoy and I look forward to welcoming you in one of the next Hellenic M* Club's meetings!

Hi,

Swiss booty ep. 1

This is a very rare Hag set from I think 1999. What makes it rare is that although the same model have been available for a long time, it is issued as "Südostbahn" only this once.

The Hag site does show the special edition set 253 which is for 2 rail use, this special one failed to make it to the site. The box states the product number as 252 (again, not on site), says this one is a special edition too, and the loko comes with a factory installed Marklin decoder.

The loko is all metal as usual. Middle wagon and the control car are plastic with metal chasis and boogies. Very fine detailing. A superb/smooth runner, well worth the money.

So, here it is:

P.S. I'm changing my photo set-up so photographs might not be in usual quality but I'm sure they will be much better very soon.

P.S.S. Nev, this is just the same as your with different livery. I think yours is harder to find.

Me again,

Swiss booty ep. 2

I really had no intention in buy this one [xx(] ... but here we have it. Nothing much to say, a standard class 185 with a fancy paint scheme - couldn't say no as only 800 pieces (799 to be exact) of these produced and the seller gave me a good discount biggrin

Sorry for poor quality the photos, I will update them as I take better ones:

Now up to 18! biggrin

Even better, with the FD's approval! biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Just arrived from RJF Trains:

Primex 2701 "Orient Express" set, converted by Robert to LS-mfx - for MrsKelly, who is an Agatha Christie fan,

and

Märklin 29552 "Hogwart's Express" set - for my nieces...and me, I suppose [:I]

BTW, I was pleasantly surprised with the Hogwart's loco -- while not top-notch Märklin metal detail, it is still a fine looking loco.

Photos to follow, soon...

Cheers,
Damon

Cem,

your Hag SOB Set is #252. The corresponding model in DC is 253. The Set came out in 1998-99 and was produced as the last model of the 150/151 Triebwagen series before that series was discontinued.

The middle coach and pilot coach were also available separately for a few years, I guess they could be used with the 155/156 and 157/158 SOB Re 4/4 model as well.

I have a handful of SOB Re 446 (ex-SBB Re 4/4IV) and Re 456 (ex-BT) Loks, along with my Hag Re 4/4III (270) and Liliput NPZ. I have a selection of SOB coaches from Lima and Hag (EWI), Roco (EWIV) AKU (LS) and Wabu (VAE Revvivo).

I am waiting for a model of the BDe 4/4 from HUI Modellbau. They are supposed to make one after they finish the current run of BT stock.

When I lived in Wollerau on the south side of the Lake of Zuerich, these trains would pass by our house many times a day.

Regards

Mike C

Mike hi,

Thank you very much for the correction (my message above is corrected after Mike's warning). In the box there was a Märklin guarantee card for the decoder stamped and signed by Hag. Would that mean the decoder is factory installed?

Regards,

Cem.

Hi Nev,

Since you received your Hag triebwagen, have you been able to check it? I did tried mine, sorry to say that it runs a bit funny - 3 pole rotor and older M* decoder are not really a good match I guess.

I will try to convert it to 5 pole permanent - I don't know if I can buy them from Hag.

...and some wagons.

Sorry for the crap photos. I really need to study those threads in "Model railroad photography". [:I]
Mrs Kelly is a much better photographer, but I have yet to persuade her of the importance of model train photography!

There are some better ones at here. Click on "Primex Locomotives" and scoll down to "in train set 2701 - Orient-Express"
It would appear to be a Märklin 3010 in French brown livery.
Cheers,
Damon
