Danke.

I have a Marklin 37265 steam locomotive whose decoder board has been burned out for years, due to a blue transformer, I have made it work only in one direction with a simple power supply. Now it has a problem with the motor, probably a capacitor burned out but I am not sure. In the photo inside the circle I have marked something like a capacitor that looks broken and if it is a capacitor what elements does it have?. If anyone knows what could be wrong, please tell me. Thanks

Can you check the item number?
37265 is an electric unit:
https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/37265

What you've shown appears to be the RF suppressors. These are normally removed with decoder upgrades, shouldn't be a problem.

What does the locomotive do? You've been running it in analog mode?

When I give it power to the traffic light it doesn't always start. When I remove the motor and have it in my hand, I give it DC power and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When I turn it by hand it starts and works.

Hi BillGem

I don't know about the decoder but your DC motor bahaves as if it has a collector problem or burnt / open windings
With Märklin locos with the appropriate model #, getting a spare motor is easy.

I am far from knowing evrything but your picture does not look like a Märklin motor

Cheers

Hi
A spare motor for your unit is E239658, is 30€ and available by MärklinShop
If your motor does not start everytime when applying a 10 VDC tension then it needs replacing.
The exploded view diagram is here https://www.maerklin.de/service/...lnummer=37265&lang=1

Is the decoder still OK? Lamps, try connecting another DC 16 VDC motor for checking

Cheers
Jean

Good morning, I found what you're talking about, but it's different.

I dont think so. The motor referenced by JohnJeanB does not show a photo on the Märklin spareparts page.
You will probably have to trust Märklins web and references on this subject, or try to spurce one f.x. on Ebay. (There is one currently, but it´s even more expensive than on the Märklin site...)

Good morning, I searched the internet and didn't find anything, just like on Marklin. I'm now trying to find something from the various old motors I have (printers, toys) that I can adapt. I've done it before with a Jouef that I've had for thirty years, when its motor broke.

Thanks, the code 239658 fits, the appearance is different and the flywheel is the same, I'll order it and we'll see.
