If you have isolated track or braking module, than it is useless, the 6080/delta loco will stopp suddendly anyway. Maybe a function is foreseen, that the CS follows the loco on the layout and can punctually give a stop command to the loco when a certain contact is closed. A new mfx feature? This would save a lot of braking modules rgds Stephan

This would be great if this would function without the computer. Not everyone wants to have a computer on the side of the layout. I work with PC all day, so I want to run my layout without it, by randomizing the runs manually. The PC I will use it only for full automatic runs, to observe the trains running on my layout. rgds Stephan

They even have a card reader so that loco information can be uploaded - instead of trying to get it from the loco a la mfx... As before, time will tell if they make the computer interface rich enough to allow really great external software to run the layout

I had no issues with my CS1 Both were early production models. So maybe, some people are better at adapting to new technology than others. Some people have a lot of problems with computers, and some do not. So, I am brave and adaptable. But it will be in Europe early - first batch. US (me) will probably get second batch in early 2009.

At 700 euros, well that's about $1550 NZ, and 1000 euros would be about $2200 NZ, which is twice the price of the current CS1 (NZ $1100). At those prices levels I cannot see many NZ Marklin enthusiasts wanting to jump in and buy. If the CS2 is offered cheaper in a starter set for under $2000 NZ, there may be some takers, but not at $2200 for the CS2 alone.

If the CS2 is offered cheaper in a starter set for under $2000 NZ, there may be some takers, but not at $2200 for the CS2 alone. At the price of 700euros i'd be right on the borderline of buying one especially as the aussie dollar has fallen a lot over the last month
